Liquid crystal screen working principle

Issuing time:2018-10-25 00:00

Simple, the screen can display is the basic principle of filling liquid crystal material between two parallel plates, through the internal molecular liquid crystal materials by changing the voltage among the state, to achieve the purpose of shading and light to show the different shades, strewn at random have the images, and as long as between two pieces of tablet plus three color filter layer, can realize the display color images.

LCD液晶屏工作原理

Liquid Crystal Display is short for Liquid Crystal Display. The structure of LCD is to place Liquid Crystal in two parallel glasses. There are many vertical and horizontal small wires between the two glasses. It's much better than CRT, but more expensive.

Liquid crystals are organic compounds composed of long rods of molecules. In the natural state, the long axes of these rod-like molecules are roughly parallel. The first characteristic of LCD is that the liquid crystal must be poured between two planar surfaces with grooves to work properly. The slots in the two planes are perpendicular to each other (they intersect at 90 degrees), which means that if molecules in one plane are aligned north-south, molecules in the other plane are aligned east-west, and molecules in between are forced into a 90-degree twist. As light travels in the direction of the molecules, it is also twisted 90 degrees as it passes through the liquid crystal. But when a voltage is applied to the liquid crystal, the molecules are rearranged vertically, allowing light to flow straight out without any twist. The second characteristic of LCD is that it relies on polarized filters and the light itself. Natural light radiates randomly in all directions. Polarized filters are actually a series of thinner and thinner parallel lines. These lines form a net that blocks all light that is not parallel to them, and the polarized filter lines are just perpendicular to the first one, so they completely block light that is already polarized.Only if the lines of the two filters are completely parallel, or if the light itself has been twisted to match the second polarized filter, will the light penetrate.LCDS are made up of two polarized filters that are perpendicular to each other, so they should normally block all light trying to pass through. However, because the two filters are filled with twisted liquid crystals, light passing through the first filter is twisted 90 degrees by the molecules of the liquid crystal before passing through the second. If, on the other hand, a voltage is applied to the liquid crystal, the molecules are rearranged and completely parallel so that the light does not twist, so that it is blocked by a second filter. In short, the power will block the light, no power will make the light out.Of course, it is also possible to change the arrangement of liquid crystals in the LCD so that light is emitted when it is energized, but not when it is not.
